Chatroom & Channels Management#

AuthVaultix Developer Dashboard me Chatroom page (https://authvaultix.com/win/app/?page=chat) aapko application in-app chat channels create karne, slowmode rate limits set karne, admin messages broadcast karne, aur abusive users ko mute karne ka full control provide karta hai.

What is Chatroom?#

The Chatroom is AuthVaultix's in-app messaging system. This feature allows your application's client users to communicate with each other and with developers/admins in real time.
Each application maintains its own isolated chat channels, so messages from one application are never visible to users of another application.

Creating & Editing Channels (createModal / editModal)#

To create a new channel, click the New Channel button. When creating or editing a channel you can configure the following parameters:
Parameter FieldDescriptionExample
Channel NameThe channel's unique name label.#general or #support
Slowmode CooldownMandatory wait time between consecutive messages from a single user (cooldown_amount + cooldown_unit).5 Seconds or 1 Minute
💡 Slowmode: Slowmode prevents spam and message flooding. While a cooldown is active a user must wait the configured duration before sending their next message.

Channel Operations & Clearing Messages#

Select an active channel from the sidebar to perform these operations:
1.
Edit Channel: Update the channel name or slowmode cooldown.
2.
Delete Channel: Permanently remove the channel and all associated messages.
3.
Clear Channel Messages: Clear all past messages in the selected channel with a single action.
4.
Clear All App Messages: Purge the entire chat history across all channels for the application.

Admin Message Replies & Targeting#

Developers can reply directly to users from the dashboard chat view:
General Broadcast: Type a message into the textarea and send it. Admin messages are displayed with distinct styling in the client application so users can easily identify them.
Targeted Admin Reply (target_username): Use the Target username (optional) field to send a direct, targeted reply to a specific user.
Keyboard Shortcuts: Press Enter to send a message and Shift + Enter to insert a newline. The scrollToBottom() function auto-scrolls the chat window to the latest message when the page loads.

Muting & Unmuting Users#

To block abusive or spamming users from sending messages:
1.
Mute User
Click the 3-dot dropdown menu on the user's message bubble.
Select the Mute User action and configure a duration (Minutes, Hours, Days, or Forever).
2.
Mute Badge & Live Countdown Timer:
Muted users cannot send new messages until the mute duration expires.
The client application can display the remaining mute time with a live countdown.
The startMuteCountdown() JavaScript routine renders a live MM:SS countdown based on data-remaining attributes. When the timer reaches zero the mute badge is removed automatically.

💡 Developer Tips#

Enable Slowmode on public channels to help prevent spam.
Use a dedicated channel (for example #announcements) for admin announcements.
Create a dedicated #support channel for support requests.
Periodically clear inactive or spam-heavy channels to keep chat history manageable.
